How to Customize IPX for Your Region?

IPX localization
Localization and customization of the Orionox IPX are often needed because:

The Orionox IPX inter-works with the local PSTN, which follows regional standards and could be slightly different from the international standards.
The IPX may need to support different languages to interface smoothly with your specific set of users.
You may need to configure the IPX system specifically to take the advantage of the IPX's data and voice features and services.

Supporting Local PSTN standards
Many countries and regions use variations from the ITU standards, such as busy tone frequency, flash key duration, etc. If these parameters are not configured properly, the IPX may not interact correctly with the local PSTN.

In the IPX Management page (basic voice > region and language), you can select the PSTN standard to North America, China, or other areas. Internally the Orionox IPX supports about 20 regional PSTN standards. When the option "other" is selected, the Orionox IPX will try to learn and to decide, during inter-working with the local PSTN, which region standard should be used.

If the result from the IPX adaptive learning is not ideal, you should go to the www.orionox.com support page to download a default configuration file for the proper region or country. The default configuration contains the localization of the PSTN standard.

Check FAQ about busy tone for related information.

Supporting various languages

Voice prompts in English and Chinese are built into the Orionox IPX. For other voice prompts, you can download from the www.orionox.com support page per region and language. If you can not find the one that you like, please contact support@orionox.com for help.

Once a voice prompt package is selected, you can further customize the IPX by replacing the voice greeting message and/or the music (used for holding/waiting). Refer to How to change greeting voice for more details.
